Making a game in C from scratch! Ep 10: [Bitmaps and Subpixel Rendering, Pixel Art & Improvements]
Hello folks!
We have reached the 10th episode in the series where we create an entire game in C from scratch! We have come a long way!
This was a super productive stream! We started off my making some temporary programmer art and programmed a system to read and display pixel-independent bitmaps in our software renderer. Then, I did some better looking pixel art and made the player move with sub pixel accuracy (now it's super smooth). We also added a print float system, unique random seed for each run, an awesome force field effect as well as some other improvements. One of the best streams, I think!
You can check it out (as well as all the other streams) on Youtube! Youtube Playlist!
You can also catch the streams live and help me build the game here on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/danzaidan
In the next stream, we will continue to improve our engine by implementing an audio system!
I hope to see you then!
