Making a game in C from scratch! Ep 04: [Programming Game Mechanics, Sketching some Levels]
Hello!
After we started experimenting with some gameplay ideas last episode, a lot of ideas came to my head. So in this stream, I restructured the based on the new ideas and implemented the base mechanics for the game.
As it happens with gameplay programming, it was a very iterative process: cleaning up to accommodate the new ideas, implementing them (sometimes breaking the old things... :P ), evaluating and moving on.
We managed to get to an interesting point in this stream: now we can play a few levels, each showing off some idea that we had (some working better than other).
If you want to watch this episode (or any one before it, ever since we started making the game from scratch), you can do so in my Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/DanZaidan
If you want to catch the game being made live, check out my Twitch page: https://www.twitch.tv/danzaidan
Next time, we are going to actually implement the core of the game design - the idea that made me interested in making this game! What is that? Well, I guess you will have to tune in to the next stream! :D
See you later!
